The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) projects that U.S. commercial crude oil inventories will remain below the five-year average low for the same period from 2021 to 2025 until the end of 2026. Since mid-April, U.S. crude oil inventories have been declining due to increased exports, decreased imports, and high refinery utilization rates. Strong international demand for U.S. crude oil is expected to drive net imports below average levels by 2027.
