Ukrainian Maritime Corridor Transported 208 Million Tons of Cargo
Since the start of the Ukrainian maritime corridor in September 2023, over 208 million tons of cargo have been transported. In late June and July, there was a decline in transport dynamics due to increased Russian attacks on ports and vessels. As of July 15, the volume of transport exceeded 208 million tons, compared to 205 million tons on July 4 and 200 million tons on June 26. Earlier reports indicated 197 million tons on May 21, 190 million tons on April 20, and 168.9 million tons on January 23. The data shows a slowdown in transport since late June: the average daily volume decreased from 0.21-0.24 million tons to 0.16 million tons. Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba noted that civil air defense groups have started operating in ports to enhance security. In the first quarter of 2026, Ukrainian ports reduced cargo handling by 8.3% to 21.1 million tons compared to the same period in 2025. In 2025, the cargo turnover of seaports decreased by 15.9% to 81.7 million tons, with agricultural products making up the majority at 44.2 million tons, which is 26.3% less than the previous year. Container transport increased by 66.1% to 215.75 thousand. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 264 civilians have been affected, and more than 960 port infrastructure facilities have been damaged or destroyed, with over 200 civilian vessels attacked.
