SpaceX's acquisition of Cursor is expected to be completed in the coming days. During an all-hands meeting, Cursor revealed that the brand name may be gradually phased out in the coming months. The upcoming general intelligence agent, internally codenamed "Sand," may be renamed to "Grok Bot." Currently, Cursor has no plans to immediately change the names of its existing tools, such as the Cursor coding assistant. The deal requires regulatory approval and is expected to be finalized by the end of this month. The brand discussion has raised questions among employees, as Cursor's CEO previously stated that SpaceXAI views the Cursor brand as an important asset, but the final brand decision may change, with SpaceX potentially adopting a completely new name. Earlier reports indicated that SpaceX would acquire Cursor's parent company, Anysphere, for $60 billion.
