Lumentum's revenue for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026 reached $1.01 billion, marking a 109% increase compared to the same period last year. The demand for optical communication components for AI data centers has reaffirmed the ongoing supply challenges for optical chips. The adjusted earnings per share (EPS) were reported at $3.23. The surge in revenue was primarily driven by optical communication components, with component sales increasing by 103% to $649 million. Shipments of coherent laser products rose by 130%, while pump laser shipments increased by 80%. Lumentum has set an OCS revenue target of $400 million for the second half of 2026, and OCS is expected to continue its triple-digit growth into the first quarter of fiscal year 2027. As demand for optical interconnects in AI data centers grows, the demand for components such as EML, CW lasers, and OCS is also rising. Lumentum plans to establish a manufacturing facility spanning 240,000 square feet in North Carolina, USA. The supply issues are also affecting Chinese manufacturers, and the supply-demand imbalance for EML and CW lasers is expected to persist into the 2026-2027 fiscal year. Lumentum has projected its revenue for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 to be between $1.225 billion and $1.275 billion.
