Circle Launches API for AI Agents to Discover and Pay for Services with USDC

Circle has launched a service discovery layer that allows artificial intelligence agents to autonomously find and use applications compatible with USDC. The new functionality expands the capabilities of the Circle Agent Stack platform, offering a Discovery API that facilitates access to a marketplace with over 900 service endpoints targeted at agents. The API provides a public connection point for wallets, clients, and applications to query the Agent Marketplace catalog without the need for API keys or authentication. This enables developers to integrate services that accept payments in USDC using the x402 standard. The tool includes search parameters for AI agents to locate services by categories, networks, and prices. All providers in the catalog are verified to reduce the risk of interactions with unverified services. The Discovery API is part of the Circle Agent Stack, introduced in May 2026, which includes wallets for autonomous fund management and a micropayment system. The platform initially operates on Ethereum, Base, and Arbitrum.
