CEX Futures Trading Falls to $4 Trillion

In July 2026, the trading volume of futures on centralized cryptocurrency exchanges (CEX) decreased to $4 trillion, marking the lowest level in 31 months. Over the year, the volume dropped by 63% from the record of $10.9 trillion set in October 2025. The decline in July marked a turning point after a three-month market recovery. Binance Futures remained the leader with a volume of $1.4 trillion, accounting for approximately one-third of the entire market. Open interest and daily volumes on major platforms remain significant: Binance Futures - $25.82 billion in open interest and $41.29 billion in daily volume; OKX Futures - $7.97 billion and $15.96 billion respectively; Bybit Futures - $9.17 billion and $9.08 billion; MEXC Futures - $23.89 billion and $8.76 billion; Gate Futures - $5.03 billion and $7.97 billion; BingX Futures - $6.64 billion in daily volume; Bitget Futures - $7.52 billion in open interest and $5.95 billion in daily volume. In the decentralized segment, the total volume of perpetual futures on DEX decreased by 21% to $531 billion, but some niches, such as perpetual contracts on tokenized real-world assets, reached a record of $141 billion.
