BTC Holds at $64,000 Despite 8% Surge in Oil Prices
Bitcoin (BTC) maintained its position at around $64,000 (approximately 89.3 million KRW) despite a surge in oil prices and hawkish signals from the U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed). On the 30th, BTC traded at $63,915 (about 89.1 million KRW) with little fluctuation. Ethereum (ETH) also saw a decline of 0.25%. Although the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) kept interest rates unchanged, three members voted in favor of a rate hike. The launch of ballistic missiles targeting U.S. troops in Iran reflected shocks in traditional markets, leading to an 8% increase in oil prices. According to CoinGlass, the liquidation volume over the past 24 hours was $286 million (approximately 399 billion KRW), with long position liquidations accounting for $186 million (about 259 billion KRW) and short position liquidations for $100 million (around 139 billion KRW). The derivatives market tilted bearish, and BTC open interest has remained around 750,000 BTC since early June. Volatility indicators showed caution signals, with BTC's 30-day implied volatility index dropping below 38%. In the options market, bullish bets were observed, while altcoins remained predominantly bearish. DeFi tokens performed relatively well, but hyperliquids declined. The possibility of renewed interest rate hike expectations may arise, and oil prices along with Fed variables are expected to continue testing the market.
